Together We Stand
Reflecting back on the last 18 months
It’s been another challenging year for emergency medicine, and it’s important that we take time to reflect, mourn, rebuild and commemorate what we’ve been through since this pandemic began.
Thanks to the support of sponsors FirstNet Built with AT&T, NORCAL Group | part of ProAssurance, NYM Health, Pfizer, Inc. and US Acute Care Solutions, ACEP has planned a variety of ways for both in-person and at-home attendees to reflect back on the last 18 months.
The Reflections Lounge will be a quiet space for remembering and honoring those we’ve lost. On Oct. 25, we’ll host a candlelight vigil as a way for the EM community to come together as we all continue the healing process.
Theater of War, a live virtual event, will be an opportunity for EM physicians to process grief and hardship through dramatic readings. Because it’s an online event open to all, it’s an excellent peer support opportunity that encourages EM physicians to have important conversations with those who understand the struggle.
The HeART of Emergency Medicine virtual art gallery will showcase the talents of ACEP members. Many of the projects, from paintings to photography, poetry and comedy, are moments of reflection on the pandemic and its impact.
