Maximize ACEP’s Career Resources and Benefits
Job satisfaction is within reach.
As part of ACEP’s new strategic plan launched in April 2022, the College committed to prioritizing your job satisfaction by addressing the challenges that make it harder to enjoy your work.
One of the ways ACEP supports you is by developing and curating resources for professional advancement and life balance. We have a variety of onsite opportunities at ACEP22, including the EMRA Job & Fellowship Fair, affinity partners in the Exhibit Hall and several sessions addressing personal finance and career-minded topics. In addition to our onsite activities, ACEP’s online Career Center continues to grow its library of resources. From residency to retirement, and everything in between, you’ll find what you need at acep.org/careers..
The Career Fulfillment pillar of ACEP’s new strategic plan (acep.org/strategic plan) lays out key strategies for the next 3-5 years.
- Develop and implement an ongoing system for identifying and addressing the issues that hinder wellness and career satisfaction for EPs.
- Aggressively solve challenges and support well workplaces for all Eps using evidence-driven tactics.
- Provide tools and resources members can use to advocate for themselves and implement these action plans locally.
- Create and communicate a map to educate and assist EPs in finding career fulfilling opportunities based on different interests or at different life stages.
Protecting the Workforce
ACEP has been building a better future for emergency physicians by pushing forward on workforce initiatives. Visit acep.org/workforce for ongoing updates and make plans to attend the James D. Mills Lecture at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, which will focus on the future of the EM workforce.

Job searching for ACEP members has never been easier thanks to our exclusive partnership with emCareers.org. Don’t forget about the EMRA Job and Fellowship Fair, open to job seekers at all stages of their careers, at 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct 1, in MCC, Exhibition Level, Hall D.
Catch Up on Salary Trends
Every fall, ACEP Now provides a Compensation & Salary Report highlighting emergency medicine compensation reports that analyze trends by state, region, setting, and other variables. You can read this report in the latest issue. Look for copies in the Exhibit Hall or view the complete archive.
Increasing Employer Transparency
ACEP has always supported your right to make your own employment decisions based on your personal circumstances. In order to help you feel more informed about potential employers, ACEP developed employer profiles (acep.org/employer profiles) to increase transparency. Employers were asked to fill out questionnaires about their adherence to ACEP’s relevant policies, and those responses were used to build an employer profile database. You can filter by numbers of contracts, governance style, contract owner, staffing model, and more
